Egly-Ouriet is a family-run Champagne house with roots dating back to the early 20th century. It has been helmed by Francis Egly since the 1980s, who brought a commitment to crafting grower Champagne that emphasizes purity and precision. The estate is celebrated for its focus on low yields, long aging, and natural viticulture practices.
Egly-Ouriet is located in the Ambonnay village, part of the Montagne de Reims subregion of Champagne. This area is known for its Grand Cru designation, highlighting its prominence in producing high-quality Pinot Noir. The cool continental climate and chalky soils define the distinct characteristics of the wines produced here.
The terroir of Egly-Ouriet is predominantly chalk-based, providing excellent drainage and mineral richness.
