Since 1998, Château Cheval Blanc has been owned by Albert Frère and Bernard Arnault. It is managed by Pierre Lurton, an iconic figure in the Bordeaux wine region.

This region is renowned for its Merlot and Cabernet Franc-based wines, with Cheval Blanc being a notable exception due to its higher proportion of Cabernet Franc.
