Mas de Daumas Gassac was established in 1970 by Aimé and Véronique Guibert and quickly earned the nickname "the Grand Cru of the Languedoc." This pioneering estate brought global recognition to the potential of the Gassac Valley, combining a reverence for tradition with a willingness to innovate. Today, the family continues to craft world-renowned wines known for their elegance and aging potential.
Located in the Gassac Valley in the Languedoc region of southern France, the estate benefits from its unique microclimate. Surrounded by garrigue-covered hills and cooled by Mediterranean breezes, the area supports the growth of both native and international grape varieties. The region’s blend of Mediterranean and Atlantic influences fosters a balance of ripeness and freshness in the wines.
The terroir is distinguished by its ancient glacial soils, rich in limestone and mineral deposits, which provide excellent drainage and complexity. Combined with the valley’s varied elevations and the cooling effects of nearby springs and rivers, the vineyards yield grapes of remarkable concentration. This distinctive setting supports low-intervention winemaking, resulting in wines with vibrant aromas and a distinct sense of place.
