Domaine Bernard-Bonin, originally known as Michelot Mère et Fille, represents a seamless blend of heritage and innovation in Burgundy winemaking. Véronique Bonin and Nicolas Bernard took the helm in 1998, bringing fresh vision to the estate’s operations while honoring its family legacy. By 2015, they achieved organic certification, solidifying their commitment to sustainable viticulture. With a focus on Chardonnay, the estate’s wines are celebrated for their precision and natural expression.
Located in Burgundy’s Côte d’Or, the Côte de Beaune is famed for producing some of the world’s finest white wines. Its varied terroir, comprising limestone-rich soils and a temperate continental climate, is ideally suited to Chardonnay. The vineyards of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, where Domaine Bernard-Bonin has its holdings, are particularly prized for their ability to produce wines that balance richness with vibrant minerality.
The vineyards of Domaine Bernard-Bonin benefit from prime locations in Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, where old vines thrive in well-drained soils rich in marl and limestone. The estate’s hands-off philosophy includes hand-harvesting, natural fermentation, and 18 months of barrel aging, allowing the terroir to shine through in every bottle. The resulting wines, including labels like Meursault Clos du Cromin and Meursault Vieilles Vignes, are known for their freshness, mineral complexity, and longevity.
