Château Quinault L’Enclos, located in Saint-Émilion, boasts a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Acquired by Bernard Arnault and Albert Frère in 2008, the estate is now managed under the expertise of Pierre Lurton, renowned for his work at Château Cheval Blanc. The château emphasizes organic farming, small-batch vinification, and precision winemaking to craft elegant, terroir-driven wines.
Situated within the Saint-Émilion appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, the estate benefits from a prime location near the Dordogne River. The region is celebrated for its Merlot-dominant blends, which thrive in the temperate maritime climate. Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known for its rolling hills and ancient vineyards, producing wines with depth and charm.
The estate’s 20-hectare vineyard is characterized by gravel and sandy soils with excellent drainage, ideal for cultivating Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The proximity to the Dordogne River moderates temperatures, ensuring consistent ripening. This unique terroir lends the wines of Château Quinault L’Enclos a silky texture, vibrant fruit profile, and refined balance, showcasing the essence of Saint-Émilion.
