Established in 1924 by Georges Roumier, Domaine Georges Roumier is situated in the village of Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy. The estate has remained family-owned, with Christophe Roumier currently overseeing operations, continuing the family's dedication to producing exceptional wines.
Situated in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy, the domaine's vineyards are primarily located in Chambolle-Musigny, with additional parcels in Morey-Saint-Denis and other neighboring appellations. This area is renowned for producing some of the world's finest Pinot Noir wines, characterized by their elegance and complexity. The region's continental climate, with warm summers and cool winters, along with its diverse terroir, contributes to the distinctive qualities of the wines.
Domaine Georges Roumier's vineyards encompass a variety of esteemed climats, including Bonnes Mares, Musigny, and Clos de Vougeot. The soils in these vineyards range from limestone to clay, each imparting unique characteristics to the wines. For instance, the Bonnes Mares vineyard, straddling Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, features complex soils that contribute to the power and finesse of the wines produced there.
