Domaine Robert Chevillon traces its origins to the early 20th century, when Symphorien Chevillon began cultivating approximately 12 hectares of vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges. His son, Eugène-François, expanded the estate by acquiring additional Premier Cru parcels. In the 1960s, Robert Chevillon further developed the domaine, which is now managed by his sons, Bertrand and Denis, representing the fifth generation of the family.
Situated in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, Domaine Robert Chevillon's vineyards are concentrated in Nuits-Saint-Georges. The estate holds parcels in eight Premier Cru sites, including Les Cailles, Les Vaucrains, and Les Saint-Georges, with some vines over 75 years old. This strategic location allows the domaine to produce a range of Pinot Noir wines that reflect the unique characteristics of each vineyard.
The vineyards benefit from diverse soil compositions, primarily featuring limestone and clay, which contribute to the complexity and depth of the wines. The combination of old vines and meticulous vineyard management enables the production of Pinot Noir that embodies the essence of Nuits-Saint-Georges, offering both structure and elegance.
