Paolo Scavino was established in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto, at the heart of Barolo, by Lorenzo Scavino and his son Paolo. Over four generations, the family has maintained a singular focus on Nebbiolo, elevating their estate to international acclaim. Today, Enrica and Elisa Scavino lead the winery, combining traditional winemaking techniques with modern innovations to craft expressive and elegant Barolo wines.
The Barolo region, located in Italy’s Piedmont, is celebrated as one of the world’s premier areas for Nebbiolo. Its hilly landscapes and proximity to the Alps create a unique environment for producing structured, long-lived wines. Castiglione Falletto, where Paolo Scavino is based, sits at the epicenter of Barolo, known for its balanced wines that bridge power and finesse.
Paolo Scavino’s vineyards span multiple crus across Barolo, each contributing distinct characteristics. The region's calcareous marl soils, rich in minerals, are perfect for growing Nebbiolo. Varying altitudes and exposures within the estate’s holdings ensure diversity in expression, while the climate’s interplay of warm days and cool nights aids in developing complex aromas, refined tannins, and vibrant acidity.
