The Estate

Domaine Méo-Camuzet, founded in the early 20th century, is one of Burgundy's most prestigious estates. Located in Vosne-Romanée, the domaine manages about 14 hectares of vineyards, including holdings in several grand cru sites such as Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, and Échezeaux. Under the leadership of Jean-Nicolas Méo since the 1980s, the estate has risen to prominence, known for producing wines of exceptional quality and finesse. Méo-Camuzet's history is notable for its connection to Henri Jayer, a legendary Burgundian winemaker who served as a consultant and mentor to the domaine.

Lower Slopes Show Depth

The lower slope position required early picking decisions to maintain freshness through the warm growing season. Deep clay-limestone soils provided essential water reserves while building structure through summer heat. The wine shows intense red fruits and spice, displaying both the vintage's ripeness and Charmes' classic supple character.

Mid-Slope Guards Balance

Spring frost tested early growth across the mid-slope parcels, while cool summer temperatures prolonged the growing season. The site's limestone-rich soils and protected exposure helped maintain precision through challenging conditions, delivering focused Pinot Noir with red fruit clarity, chalky minerality, and Chambolle's characteristic grace.
