With origins dating back to the 13th century, Château Carbonnieux is one of the oldest estates in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Originally run by Benedictine monks, it is now owned by the Perrin family, who have preserved its rich history while modernizing its winemaking practices.
The estate is situated in the Pessac-Léognan region, just south of Bordeaux, an area celebrated for its gravelly soils and its production of both red and white wines. The mild climate, influenced by nearby forests, creates a protective environment that contributes to consistent grape quality year after year.
Château Carbonnieux’s terroir benefits from deep gravel beds over clay-limestone subsoils, offering exceptional drainage and ideal conditions for vine growth.
