The Estate

Domaine Méo-Camuzet, founded in the early 20th century, is one of Burgundy's most prestigious estates. Located in Vosne-Romanée, the domaine manages about 14 hectares of vineyards, including holdings in several grand cru sites such as Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, and Échezeaux. Under the leadership of Jean-Nicolas Méo since the 1980s, the estate has risen to prominence, known for producing wines of exceptional quality and finesse. Méo-Camuzet's history is notable for its connection to Henri Jayer, a legendary Burgundian winemaker who served as a consultant and mentor to the domaine.

West Face Preserves Freshness

The warm vintage tested the west-facing slopes, yet the pure limestone soils maintained crucial acidity through summer heat. Early picking decisions preserved freshness while capturing ripe Chardonnay flavors on the grand cru hill. The wine shows intense citrus and wet stone notes, balancing power with precision through the limestone's cooling influence.

Frost Tests Early Growth

April frost severely reduced yields across the grand cru's western exposure, while summer's cool conditions prolonged ripening. The site's limestone-rich soils and elevation helped maintain balance through the challenging season, producing precise Chardonnay with citrus intensity, chalky minerality, and the site's characteristic saline drive.
