Taittinger's Brut Réserve represents the epitome of the House's elegant, Chardonnay-driven style. The wine displays a refined bouquet of fresh citrus, white peach, and delicate white flowers, with subtle notes of brioche and vanilla from extended aging on lees. On the palate, it shows remarkable balance between freshness and complexity, with fine, persistent bubbles and a creamy texture that exemplifies premium non-vintage Champagne.

7 Oct, 2016 – This has a bright array of peach and citrus fruits in addition to gentle toast. It's fresh and bright, but with a chalky edge. The palate's pitched into a bold statement of stone fruits, berries and citrus. The acid and dosage are all balanced in favor of flavor. Drink now

Taittinger's NV Brut Reserve—a blend of more than 35 different vineyards, assembling 40% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 25% Pinot Meunier, including 30% reserve wines—has a clear, fresh and vinous bouquet with Pinot Meunier flavors in front. Bottled in 2014 and disgorged in March 2017 with nine grams of dosage, this is a lithe and fresh but mouth-filling Brut with round and aromatic fruit. It tastes almost as charming as the Rosé Prestige yet less vinous and is rather lean and fresh. Tasted in November 2017.

A slight whiff of melted butter on the nose. Lovely plum and melon notes on the palate with a mouth-watering finish.

The Estate

Taittinger, founded in 1734, is one of the few remaining family-owned and operated Champagne houses. Based in Reims, the house is currently led by Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger and his children, Vitalie and Clovis. Taittinger owns 288 hectares of vineyards, making it the second largest domaine in Champagne, with holdings in the best crus of the Champagne region. The house is particularly known for its Chardonnay-dominant style, with its prestige cuvée, Comtes de Champagne, being a blanc de blancs made entirely from Chardonnay.

Elegant Chardonnay-Led House Style

At Taittinger, the Brut Réserve benefits from the House's significant holdings of chalk cellars beneath Reims, where the wine ages for a minimum of three years. The high proportion of Chardonnay (40%) in the blend, unusual for a non-vintage Champagne, comes from carefully selected vineyards across the region. This extended aging and precise blending create a consistently refined house style that balances freshness with maturity.
